Get answers to common questions about Bikini Wax.
Ideally hair is about a quarter-inch long (roughly 7–10 days of growth). If hair is too short the wax won’t grip; if too long it can be more uncomfortable. We can trim slightly before waxing if needed.
Most clients feel brief stinging as hair is removed, but the sensation is short-lived. Deep breaths, a skilled technician, and occasional numbing creams can reduce discomfort. Regular waxing often becomes less painful over time.
Maintenance varies by individual, but most clients return every 3–6 weeks depending on hair growth. Regular waxing can thin regrowth and extend time between appointments. We’ll recommend a schedule based on your specific results.
Avoid tanning, exfoliating immediately before waxing, and heavy alcohol or blood-thinning medications. After waxing don’t sunbathe, use hot tubs, or apply irritating products for 24–48 hours. Follow aftercare to minimize redness and sensitivity.
Active infections, open wounds, severe sunburn, or recent chemical treatments may prevent waxing. Certain medications like strong retinoids can increase skin sensitivity. Tell your esthetician about medical conditions or products so we can advise or reschedule safely.
Prepare by letting hair reach about a quarter-inch length and exfoliating a day or two beforehand. Avoid heavy lotions or oils on the day, arrive clean, and communicate any concerns or sensitivities with your esthetician.
