Get answers to common questions about Lip Wax.
A Lip Wax appointment usually takes about five to ten minutes. Including consultation, skin prep and brief aftercare guidance, expect a total visit time of around ten to fifteen minutes depending on sensitivity and any additional requests.
Some stinging is normal, but the procedure is brief. We minimize discomfort with professional technique, temperature-tested wax, gentle skin preparation and soothing post-wax treatments. Numbing options can be discussed for especially sensitive clients.
Hair should be about 1/4 inch (roughly 6 mm) long so the wax can grip effectively. If hair is too short waxing won’t remove it, and overly long hair may increase discomfort.
Many with sensitive skin or mild acne can be waxed safely after consultation. We use gentle formulas and careful technique. If you have active severe acne, open sores or certain skin conditions, we may recommend alternatives.
Most clients schedule Lip Wax every three to six weeks, depending on personal hair growth. With regular waxing regrowth often becomes finer and sparser, which can extend the time between appointments.
Avoid sun exposure, hot showers and heavy makeup for 24 hours. Keep the area clean, apply a calming lotion or aloe, and gently exfoliate after 48–72 hours to reduce the risk of ingrown hairs.
